Peter Bijlard in the spotlight
Sixty-one years ago, Peter Bijlard's father founded his own company selling many types of adhesive, and quickly built up a one-man business. Peter didn't plan to take over the company, but immediately after his father passed away on 12 June 1987, he had no other choice and decided to take over at ‘the helm’, so that he and his mother would in any case be assured of an income.
At that time, Peter had only worked at the company for a few months.
And so this month, it`s exactly 30 years since Peter Bijlard continued with Bijlard International as an independent businessman.
In the beginning, he continued running the company as his father had done for many years. But after a while, the entrepreneur in him began to become restless, and he decided to do things a little differently to his father after all. After a number of successful acquisitions and producing its own adhesives, Bijlard International grew very rapidly. In 2011, the company began producing and developing adhesives. What began in Scheveningen in the home of his parents, and continued in Zoetermeer with a staff of two, has now grown to become a multinational company that supplies adhesives and associated products to 30 countries.

It`s not just customers who are full of praise for Bijlard, but also the staff. The management team organised a small surprise party. The anniversary of the company was celebrated with some great speeches, a beautiful, striking photo of the founder of Bijlard International and a beautiful lithograph of Peter.
Bijlard International is on the move. Its products now reach more and more customers in the Netherlands and beyond: ‘Made in Holland’ sells well. This proved to be the case during Domotex Hannover.

Although it is already more than 60 years old, Bijlard International has always remained dynamic and is ready to face the future full of energy!

For the last five years, Bijlard Int. has also been the Benelux agent and distributor for Dynea, a manufacturer of high-quality Prefere wood adhesives for load-bearing and non-load-bearing structures with a global reputation.
